Can I make soy milk in the M1?Updated 3 hours ago

Yes! Just keep in mind the M1 doesn't have a heating element, so your soybeans need to be fully cooked before blending. Raw soybeans aren't safe to eat and won't process correctly.

Here's the safe way to make soy milk in your M1:

1. Soak the soybeans

Soak 1 cup of dry soybeans in water for 8-12 hours or overnight. This softens the beans and improves the texture of your finished milk.

2. Cook the soybeans

  • Drain and rinse the soaked beans.
  • Boil them in fresh water for 15-20 minutes, until fully tender.
  • Let them cool until warm, not hot. Hot ingredients shouldn't go into the M1.

3. Prepare your soy milk in the M1

  • Add the cooked soybeans to the filter basket and fresh water to the chamber. A good starting ratio is 1 part cooked soybeans to 2 parts water for creamy soy milk.
  • Close the lid, make sure the spout cap is closed, set the blend time to 1:00 minute, and press Start.

4. Add flavor if you'd like

Add a splash of natural flavor during the blending step: try dates, vanilla, maple syrup, or cinnamon.

5. Enjoy!

Your soy milk will come out smooth and ready to drink. If you prefer it warm, just heat it gently on the stove afterward.
